2017-2018 AMHA Fall Season Registration

Registration for the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season is now open

In an effort to streamline and simplify our collection of skater fees, payments will only be accepted by credit or debit card this year.  As you register your skater, you will be asked for a card number and authorization to charge this card for your annual fees.  The first payment will be due at the time of registration.  Each level will have a different number of payments due and this is listed below with the charges.   The second payment will be due on Oct 1st , third payment on Nov 1st and so on.  There is an option to pay your outstanding fees early if you are interested, please contact the assistant treasurer at or call Jerry Seydell @ 515.460.1536.

In addition to the coupon for early registration, if you have multiple skaters in AMHA above the Mite Level, you will receive a $50.00 coupon for your second and/or third skater.


About the Hockey Classes/Levels:

Learn to Skate (LTS) program:

Don’t know how to skate? We will teach you!! This program is recommended for skaters to develop proper skating skills and prepare them for the Learn to

Play program. Skaters will need to demonstrate proficiency in basic skating skills before moving to Learn To Play Hockey.


Learn to Play Hockey (LTP) program.

Thisis a beginner hockey program. It is ideal for players who have graduated from the Learn to Skate program and want to learn how to play hockey. The

program focuses on fundamental skating and stick handling skills used in games,in addition to improving each player’s balance, agility and control. Practices will include stations that teach a variety of skills including stopping, turning, and skating backwards as well as stick handling, passing, and shooting. A fun and encouraging environment will be maintained with

an emphasis on teaching through drills and small area games.


TYKES (ages 6U):

This is for skaters who have completed the Learn to Play (LTP) program and want to continue in hockey. The program focuses on skating and stick-handling skills used in games,in addition to improving each player’s balance, agility and control. Practices will include stations that teach a variety of skills including stopping, turning, and skating backwards as well as stick handling, passing, and shooting. A fun and encouraging environment will be maintained with an emphasis on teaching through drills and small area games.


MITES (ages 8U), SQUIRTS (ages 10U),

PEEWEES (ages 12U), BANTAMS (ages 14U),


Practices will include stations that teach a variety of skills including stopping, turning, and skating backwards as well as stick handling, passing, and shooting. A fun and encouraging environment will be maintained with an emphasis on teaching through drills and small area games.

Please Note Your Skater Must Register With USA Hockey:

AMHA registration and skater fees cover ice time, game jerseys, insurance, referees, and other expenses. Parents must also register each skater with USA hockey. Current costs for this are $48 per skater (free for all players birth year 2011 and after). Please click on the link below to register.

USA Hockey Requirement

Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2017-2018 Season.

  • Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
  • Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.
