2022-2023 AMHA Regular (Sept - March) Season Registration

Registration for the 2022-2023 Fall/Winter season is now open

This registration will register your player for the 2022-2023 season.  There is a partial fee due at the time of registration which holds your players spot.  A payment schedule will apply at the start of the season where you will be charged the remainder of the fee.  See below for the payment schedule at each level. There is an option to pay in full as well.

 

Family Discount: 

Families with multiple skaters in AMHA Mite Level and above, will receive a $100.00 discount.  Be sure to use discount promotion code at checkout:

Payments will only be accepted by credit or debit card.  As you register your skater, you will be asked for a card number and authorization to charge this card for your annual fees.  The first payment will be due at the time of registration.  Payment schedules vary by level, see below.  Payments occur on the first of the month, starting October 1.  If you have outstanding fees from last year, please contact the assistant treasurer Jana Brem billing@ameshockey.com.

PRACTICE ONLY PLAYERS:  If you wish to register a practice player only,  please contact Chad Callan at president@ameshockey.com for fees.


Please register your skater(s) within the appropriate age group for which they are eligible to skate in this upcoming season. Those who are interested in asking for your child to be evaluated for a possible move-up this season should fill out the AMHA Player Move Up Request Form. If you have any questions related to the move-up process, please contact Matt Paulsen.

 

Tryout/ Evaluation Schedule

Tryouts/ evaluations determine which team skaters are assigned within each level.  All skaters are encouraged to attend all 3 tryout times for their level.

 

Volunteer Requirements

High School Volunteer Requirements:  

Parents of Seniors = 10 hours, Parents of all other HS skaters = 25 hours

Buyout of Volunteering: High School Seniors, $150.  High School Junior, Sophomore, Freshman, $375. Fees apply to single or multi-player families.

 

Volunteer Requirements All Other Levels:

Volunteer requirements will remain the same this year for both individual player families and multiple player families. The required credits are 15 for individual player families and 25 for multiple player families.

 

Buyout of Volunteering: $225 for individual player families and $375 for multiple player families. Board members, coaches, coordinators, locker room attendees, committee members, and game day assistance, are just a few options where volunteer credits are earned.

2022-2023 Concussion Information

All new and current AMHA athletes will need to get be screened for this season.  All Mites moving up to squirts will also need to be tested. High School players who have already done the concussion testing this year for other High School Sports need to notify Rod Jones and Mark Pink, hscoordinator@ameshockey.com, High School Coordinators and provide the scores.

Specifics related to screening for this year are still being worked out. More information related to screenings will be provided at a later date.

AMHA Practice Player Policy

The AMHA Practice Player policy is related to players who are participating in an AAA program or other specialized program and for players who would prefer to participate in practices only and not participate in tournament travel. If interested, please take a moment to review the updated policy and contact Matt Paulsen with any questions.

About the Hockey Classes/Levels:

 

Learn to Play Hockey (LTP) program.

The LTP is AMHA's beginner hockey program for those interested in learning the basics of skating, hockey, and teamwork. The program focuses on basic skating and stick handling skills, in addition to improving each player’s balance, agility, and control. Practices will include stations that teach a variety of skills including stopping, turning, and skating backward as well as stick handling, passing, and shooting. LTP is a fun, and encouraging environment with an emphasis on teaching through drills and small area games.

NOTE:  Birth years 2016 and younger, that have played House and are ready for the next level including travel hockey at Mites (8U) can consult with a coach about registering for Mite (8U) - please contact Matt Paulsen (paulsenhockey@gmail.com) for more information.

 

House Level (2 ice touches per week)

No travel – have completed at least 1 session of LTP Basic or have prior experience skating/playing hockey. House athletes must be ready for scrimmages.

 

Learn to Play Basic (1 ice touch per week)

No travel – new to hockey, or are not yet ready for scrimmages

 

Mite (8U):

This is for skaters who have completed the Learn to Play (LTP) program and want to continue in hockey. The program focuses on skating and stick-handling skills used in games, in addition to improving each player’s balance, agility, and control. Practices will include stations that teach a variety of skills including stopping, turning, and skating backward as well as stick handling, passing, and shooting. A fun and encouraging environment will be maintained with an emphasis on teaching through drills and small area games.

SQUIRTS (ages 10U), PEEWEES (ages 12U), BANTAMS (ages 14U), and HIGH SCHOOL:

Practices will include stations that teach a variety of skills including stopping, turning, and skating backward as well as stick handling, passing, and shooting. A fun and encouraging environment will be maintained with an emphasis on teaching through drills and small area games.

Skaters MUST Register With USA Hockey:

MHA registration and skater fees cover ice time, game jerseys, insurance, referees, and other expenses. Parents must also register each skater with USA hockey.

 

USA Hockey Requirement

Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2022-2023 Season.

  • Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
  • Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.
